We are so excited to welcome Megan Assaf back to Bloomington for this retreat!
Knowing and understanding each facet of your breast tissue can give you a deep awareness and confidence about your breast health. Practicing this kind of self awareness and self love nurtures health and vitality in your breasts, heart, body, and spirit. There is something to be gained here for every woman to use in her personal healing toolkit.
This topic doesn’t have to be scary! It is actually interesting and learning about it can be easy. With interactive conversation, many kinesthetic and visual aids, working on your own body in class with breast oils you can smell, interact with and experience how they support you… you’ll be engaged as we move through it. The time flies quickly!

Our day will include:
*a dynamic, interactive, and immersive 3 hour class covering a range of valuable breast wisdom that will give us a practical, grounded understanding of our breasts and how to care for them. The time will go quickly as it’s so interesting! Topics covered will include: simple breast anatomy and lymph flows, breast changes in life, breast helping movements/posture/self breast massage how-to, herbal breast massage oils, lifestyle choices that help or harm breasts, tangible signs of breast disease, and breast screening options (there are many!). There will be kinesthetic and visual teaching aids to engage your senses. We will be learning a self breast massage, to be performed under your shirt, for modesty. Megan is a powerhouse of wisdom- these teachings are not easily found. This is an amazing opportunity! * a nourishing lunch and snacks featuring foods that promote breast health * plenty of time for relaxing and cleansing in the wood-fired sauna and cold plunge -clothing optional. * open time for processing and self-reflection *a dynamic forest sound bath *a potent and healing guided meditation, helping us listen to, connect, and communicate with our bodies and breasts *opportunity to release grief or tension in relation to our body or breasts *along with the cleansing and physical nourishment of the day, we will discuss tangible emotional support and use of flower essences for breast health. *a comprehensive packet of breast health information and local resources for continued health *connection with a community of women who seek holistic well-being *a new or renewed appreciation, connection, and wisdom with your breasts to carry you forward in life *an experience you won't forget! *closing circle about 5pm. Those who attend the retreat on Saturday will get to be first in line to receive a 30 minute private breast massage session on the following day, Sunday May 18. If you have never received a holistic breast massage, it is unbelievably amazing- truly life changing- and Megan is extremely skillful in the field. It is first come first serve, so specify when registering if you'd like this opportunity. |
Why learn about holistic self care for our breasts?
Because our health might depend on it! This is the class I wish I’d had in my early 20’s when I found a lump and was terrified, alone, and unused to taking responsibility for my body wellness. By learning about our breasts and how to care for them, we can begin to free ourselves from debilitating fear of sudden disease and disembodiment… by actively taking steps to help them be healthy! We can enjoy and appreciate all that our breasts bring to our lives, and actively support their health and happiness, and therefore our overall health and happiness -they sit right next to our heart after all! Who is this retreat for? Women of all ages, races, sizes, who want to learn more about how to cultivate healthy breasts. It’s also for women who have had surgical alterations and/or reconstructions, or cancer treatments. Women who have had surgery, mastectomy, or breast cancer have the opportunity to learn personal helpful adaptations to some of the massage techniques. This retreat will greatly add to your personal holistic toolkit! |
