FOOD FOR THE SOUL: WILD FORAGING and Craft WEEKEND
October 7-8 2023
Details
Multi-Day Workshop
Saturday 8:30am, October 7, 2023 through
12pm Sunday October 8, 2023
Cost: $300
Location: private property in Monroe County
Spend the weekend gathering wild edibles and wild medicines from various ecosystems in beautiful Southern Indiana! We will learn about, ethically harvest, process, cook, and of course devour lots of wild edibles throughout the weekend. We will also make lots of plant medicines for you to take home for yourself or friends and family, and learn various wild cooking techniques, along with creating some of our own collection and eating containers. This is an immersive, jam packed weekend of plant and mushroom tastiness, that will leave you feeling deeply connected to the land. Sustenance activities like foraging help us to slow down, try new things, go on adventures, and have FUN!!!! No experience necessary.
Camping available and encouraged when possible! There is a small hike (less than 1/4 mile) to the camping area. All foraged food will be made together , but will not constitute an entire meal! The emphasis is on learning the plants and mushrooms, not on stuffing ourselves. We will try our best to accommodate dietary needs. You must bring food for your main meals. We will meet after dinner for more activities (various methods of cooking with coals and fire, craft with coals and fire, and more!) around the fire, probably ending around 9/10pm -although some people choose to stay around the fire to work on crafts or share stories into the night -its up to you!
People arriving from out of town are welcome to come Friday night to set up camp- just let us know in the registration form!
Facilitated by Monique Philpot and Michelle Becker Boshears
